Internet Tool Review #3 by Alison: Improving workflow with Diigo!

Diigo is pronounced as Dee’go. It is an abbreviation for “Digest of Internet Information, Groups, and Other stuff.” It would be a mouthful to say all of that, so Diigo it is! You might be wondering what Diigo is used for, just like what I was thinking before I explored this Internet tool. In a nutshell, Diigo is a versatile tool that is used to manage information and knowledge, which improves workflow and efficiency. Because we live in a society that heavily relies on technology, a lot of our research and knowledge is available online. With Diigo, you are able to digitally highlight and annotate web pages. You can also create your own personal library and mark certain websites for future reference. There are more than 9 million users on Diigo and you are able to try it for free by creating an account! There are four different types of plans available: free, standard, professional, and business. Each plan has its own core features and it is a yearly subscription.

Diigo was initially created in 2005. Since then, it has evolved into an easily accessible Internet tool worldwide. It can be accessed through the PC, Mac, Android, iPad, and iPhone. Diigo may be intimidating to use at first, but once you are comfortable, you will love it! There are multiple video tutorials available in the video library as well. Diigo can certainly be used by both teachers AND students! Students can learn to conduct online research, share content, and collaborate. It is an engaging and transformative experience. If you want to improve your workflow, try Diigo now!
