            The Children’s Book Review is a one stop website to get the up-to-date reviews on the latest books. The Association for Library Service to Children named this website as one of the “Great Web Sites For Kids.” Founded by Bianca Schulze, along with a team of contributors from various backgrounds and experiences, The Children’s Book Review takes pride in the promotion of children’s literature and literacy. On this site, users may find published reviews and book lists for children of all ages. In addition, there are author and illustrator interviews as well as articles related to literacy that may be helpful for parents, grandparents, caregivers, teachers, and librarians to help promote literacy to young readers.
            Upon first glance of The Children’s Book Review website, users are immediately greeted with a variety of images presenting different books and literacy topics. It may be overwhelming, however upon closer inspection, there is a sense of organization and helps get the attention of users. On the navigation bar of the website, users may find the different categories The Children’s Book Review has to offer. Book reviews could be found arranged either by subject, age range, featured, or by searching the author directory. In addition, The Children’s Book Review offers giveaways for a chance to win books and conveniently links books to Amazon where users may directly purchase the book after reading the review.
            Some of the categories the books are organized into include: ABC’s, Activity Books, Fairy Tales, Mysteries, Science, Sports, and Travel, just to name a few. Users may also take note of what subjects are trending or browse book reviews organized by varying age ranges. The Children’s Book Review also offers users a ‘Showcase’ page to feature noteworthy books and interviews of specific authors and illustrators. The online community promotes the featured authors and illustrators to gain recognition by users.
            Lastly, The Children’s Book Review offers helpful articles listed under: Growing Readers: Reading and Writing Tips. There were a couple of articles nested in the category of ‘Quest for Literacy.’ Those articles included: Literacy and Gratitude: How to Promote Literacy and Instill Gratitude, and How to Create Winter Traditions and How They Can Promote Literacy. Other articles can be found under different categories such as ‘Books by Age’ where the article of, The Best Family-Friendly Podcasts for Kids, can be found. These articles are especially helpful for parents, teachers, and other users who have a desire to improve literacy with children.
