Effective Literacy Website #5

Teach Thought was founded by Terry Heick in 2012.  Initially, the idea was to create a blog to support educators in teaching and learning for a 21st century audience targeting grades K-12.  The Mission was to innovate education through the growth of innovative teachers.  In 2016 and 2017, Teach Thought began offering professional development and conference to schools.  In 2018, Teach Thought began the development of teaching materials and curricula to support teachers in innovation in their own classrooms.  Today, Teach Thought is preparing to launch a learning platform for teachers.
Teach Thought develops content such as blog posts, eBooks, eCourses, videos, podcasts and etc.  They also provide professional development for this 21st century curriculum, publish books and consulting for various education projects.
Teach Thought can be accessed by this site https://www.teachthought.com.  The homepage has tabs for Teaching, Learning, Critical Thinking, Literacy, Technology, More Topics and Professional Development.  The Teaching tab offers resources to create multiple choice questions, strategies for teaching, getting to know students, using rubrics, peer teaching, prior knowledge activities, and many more articles to help teachers support student development.  The Literacy tab offers articles of reading and writing strategies, integration of writing in other subject areas, ideas to boost student interest in reading, assessment, and incorporating technology into reading and writing.  The PD tab offers Literacy workshops that include Literacy Skills Development and many more.
