Keys to Literacy (http://www.keystoliteracy.com) is a free, multimedia resource for educators. The website includes features on the homepage
such as services, events, about us, free resources, store and blog. This website is a leading provider of
research-based skills that are necessary to teach reading and writing in all
subjects across all grades. It is a
professional program designed to assist teachers with instruction in the
classroom using existing reading and curriculum materials.
The site is simple to
navigate. Other tabs on the homepage
are PD offerings, Online trainings, Literacy Skills (Comprehension, Vocabulary,
Writing and Phonics). The site also
provides articles and information that are research based. Under
free resources in the homepage there are videos, webinars, articles, templates,
printables and newsletter archives. The
videos and webinars highlight strategies for reading and writing applicable for
all grade levels. The articles provided
insights and ongoing research of literacy development of learners. The templates and printables provide over 100
resources in vocabulary, comprehension, reading, and writing for all grade
level that teachers can access to and supplement skills in literacy.
Keys to Literacy is a great literacy
website because it has a variety of resources and tools to select from to help
develop student’s reading and writing skills.
